Morgan Rushworth XRTC Combined Sheet and Tube Fibre Laser Cutting Machine
The Morgan Rushworth XRTC 3015-61120 combines flat bed sheet cutting and tube laser cutting in one versatile CNC fibre laser machine. For fabrication businesses producing both sheet metal components and tubular assemblies, it offers the flexibility to process a wider range of work through a single machine.
With a 3,000 x 1,500mm flat bed cutting area and a standard maximum tube length of 6,100mm, the XRTC accommodates sheet and tube work within the same production setup. An optional 8,100mm tube length capacity is available for businesses working with longer stock.
Flexible sheet metal and tube processing
The flat bed provides a practical working area for profiling sheet metal components, while the tube cutting system handles round, square, rectangular and other profile shapes. Supported profiles include triangular, elliptical and obround sections, alongside H, C, U and L profiles and custom shapes, subject to their dimensions and suitability.
Round tube capacity ranges from Ø16mm to Ø120mm, with square section capacity from 16 x 16mm to 120 x 120mm. This gives fabricators flexibility when producing components for frames, furniture, general engineering and other fabricated assemblies.
The tube system has a maximum part length of 3,000mm and a minimum automatic loading length of 2,000mm. These capacities help businesses assess the machine against their stock lengths and finished component requirements.
Automatic loading for repeat production
Automatic tube loading is supplied as standard, helping reduce manual handling during repeated production runs. Optional automatic unloading allows the handling arrangement to be tailored further to the workshop’s requirements.
For businesses processing batches of tube components, automated loading can help maintain a more consistent flow of material through the machine and reduce the operator time spent presenting each length for cutting.
Beckhoff CNC control and Raytools cutting head
The XRTC features a Beckhoff CNC control with an 18.5-inch TFT display and a Raytools cutting head. Laser power options range from 1kW to 15kW, with IPG, nLight or Max Photonics laser source options listed in the specification.
This choice allows the machine configuration to be matched to the intended workload. The appropriate laser power will depend on the materials, thicknesses, cut quality and production output required.
CNC fibre laser cutting for varied fabrication work
A rapid traverse speed of 115m/min and vector speed of 160m/min support efficient positioning between cuts. Cutting feed rates are programmable up to 50m/min, with actual cutting speeds dependent on the material and thickness being processed.
By combining sheet and tube cutting, the Morgan Rushworth XRTC offers a practical option for workshops looking to expand their in-house profiling capabilities. It is particularly relevant where finished assemblies require both flat components and tube or section parts.
