Combining advanced fibre laser technology, intelligent automation features, and robust machine construction, the Morgan Rushworth XP Fibre Laser offers outstanding performance across a wide range of materials and applications.

Overview of the Morgan Rushworth XP Fibre Laser

Designed for manufacturers seeking maximum productivity and cutting precision, the Morgan Rushworth XP Fibre Laser delivers fast processing speeds, excellent edge quality, and low operating costs. Suitable for processing mild steel, stainless steel, aluminium, brass, copper and other metals, the XP range provides a flexible and future-proof cutting solution for workshops of all sizes.

Whether producing one-off components, prototype parts, or large production batches, the XP Fibre Laser offers the accuracy, consistency and efficiency required in today’s competitive manufacturing sector.

Key Features

Available in 3kW, 6kW and 12kW Configurations

The XP Fibre Laser is available with a choice of laser power outputs to suit different production requirements:

  • 3kW – Ideal for general fabrication and day-to-day sheet metal processing.
  • 6kW – Increased cutting speeds and greater material thickness capability.
  • 12kW – High-performance cutting for demanding production environments and thicker materials.

This flexibility allows businesses to invest in the power level that best matches their workload while retaining the ability to scale production capabilities.

Advanced Fibre Laser Technology

At the heart of the XP Fibre Laser is a high-efficiency fibre laser source that delivers exceptional beam quality and cutting performance. Fibre laser technology offers numerous advantages over traditional CO₂ systems, including:

  • Lower energy consumption
  • Faster cutting speeds
  • Reduced maintenance requirements
  • Superior cutting performance on reflective materials
  • Lower operating costs

The result is cleaner cuts, improved productivity, and reduced cost per part.

Intelligent CNC Control System

The XP Fibre Laser features an intuitive CNC control platform designed to simplify operation and maximise efficiency. Operators can quickly import part files, optimise nesting layouts, and manage cutting operations through a user-friendly interface.

Advanced motion control technology ensures precise positioning, smooth cutting paths, and consistent part quality throughout production runs.

Heavy-Duty Machine Construction

Built around a robust welded steel frame, the XP Fibre Laser provides exceptional stability during operation. The rigid machine structure minimises vibration and helps maintain cutting accuracy, even during prolonged periods of high-speed production.

The fully enclosed design enhances operator safety while helping contain fumes, dust and reflected light generated during the cutting process.

High-Speed Productivity

Designed for modern manufacturing environments, the XP Fibre Laser combines rapid axis acceleration with advanced cutting algorithms to maximise throughput. Faster processing times allow manufacturers to increase output, reduce lead times, and improve overall profitability.

Materials and Applications

Wide Range of Material Compatibility

The Morgan Rushworth XP Fibre Laser is capable of processing a broad range of metals, including:

  • Mild Steel
  • Stainless Steel
  • Aluminium
  • Brass
  • Copper
  • Galvanised Steel

Fibre laser technology is particularly effective when cutting reflective materials such as brass and copper, providing excellent cutting quality and process reliability.

Suitable for Diverse Industries

The XP Fibre Laser is ideal for a wide variety of manufacturing sectors, including:

  • General Engineering

Automated cutting parameter management helps reduce programming time and ensures optimal cutting performance across different materials and thicknesses.

Low Maintenance Design

Fibre laser systems are renowned for their reliability and low maintenance requirements. With no laser mirrors and fewer consumable components than traditional laser technologies, the XP Fibre Laser helps reduce service costs and minimise downtime.

This enables manufacturers to maximise machine availability and focus on production.

Energy Efficiency and Cost Savings

Reduced Operating Costs

The highly efficient fibre laser source consumes significantly less energy than older cutting technologies while delivering higher productivity levels. Lower power consumption contributes directly to reduced operating expenses and improved profitability.

Maximum Material Utilisation

Accurate cutting performance, advanced nesting capabilities, and minimal kerf width help maximise material utilisation and reduce waste. This contributes to lower production costs and improved overall efficiency.
