T & M Buildings specialises in the design, fabrication, supply and erection of bespoke steel frames for farm, agricultural and industrial clients, covering Devon and the surrounding areas.
When they wanted to upgrade their old steelworking machine they came to Selmach. We spoke to Ian Brown, one of the fabricators on the workshop floor about his experience with the new Morgan Rushworth Steelworker.
“Helps do the job better and faster”
What led you to buy the new machine/ what was the objective?
We wanted an upgrade to the old machine. We had an HST 70, which we used as a part exchange and we wanted a more robust model to deal with the bigger materials that we work with. We use it for cutting and punching the steel for agricultural buildings.
How did you hear about Selmach and why did you choose them?
We have a long history of working with Selmach and they are brilliant. We had a bandsaw from them recently. We get all our consumables from them; we get the blades, punches and other bits and pieces.
And the Morgan Rushworth Brand?
It works extremely well. I’m only two and a half years into the trade but I can see that it does what it’s meant to do – I’m happy with it.
The main features that attracted us to this particular machine was that it operates quicker, gets easily through heavy-duty materials and creates more precise work.
Did the machines meet your expectations?
Yes, without a doubt, reliable and robust. It makes our lives a lot easier, is faster working making the materials. It helps us do our job, but only faster and better.
What are your thoughts on the aftercare and service throughout the process?
We don’t need to contact Selmach much but we’re confident that they’re always at the end of the phone.
Tips/advice for others looking to buy the same machine?
Don’t hesitate, I recommend it. It does what it’s meant for and is good for your business.
