Next Generation Fabrications is a fabricating company based in Portsmouth. They specialise in steel fabrications and metal work throughout the Portsmouth and Hampshire areas, producing marine fabrication, domestic steel products including gates, railings and balustrades, and architectural projects. They have recently taken possession of a Bianco 420 MS Bandsaw and a Morgan Rushworth Hydraulic HSW Steelworker from Selmach and are in the process of buying a pair of rollers for the business. We spoke to Rob McDuff, Director of Next Generation Fabrications about what he thought of Selmach and its products.

How did you hear about Selmach and why did you choose them?

I started using them a long time ago, I used them a few times with my previous business and I get their emails through recommending their products, so when I needed machinery I went back to them and will always go to them. They are really helpful, especially Warwick who has loads of helpful info – he’s brilliant!

They have benefitted us in every way – it has saved us time, money and I would say that they’re definitely worth the investment.

What led you to buy the bandsaw and the steelworker? What was the objective?

With the saw we were just replacing our existing one with a bigger better model. With the steelworker – I’ve always wanted one of them so when they offered me a really good deal on the two, I just went for it. The way I see it? – it’s a good investment in your business.

What do you use the bandsaw and the steelworker for?

The majority of what we make is staircases, balustrades, structural beams, and we’re cutting ferrous and non-ferrous metals – the saw does it all.

And that particular Brand? Any particular attraction to it, as opposed to others?

We just went for what Selmach recommended to us. I don’t know too much about it so I trusted what they were saying we needed. And yes, they have both definitely met our expectations, and then some.

How has your business benefitted overall?

They have benefitted us in every way – it has saved us time, money and I would say that they’re definitely worth the investment.

What are your thoughts on the aftercare and service throughout the process?

When the saw was delivered we had a slight problem as I couldn’t figure something out, but Warwick went through everything with me and so it’s fine now. They are there if you need their help.  I would certainly recommend using Selmach, especially Warwick.
