Quick Start – Morgan Rushworth PBR1050-90 Sheet Rolls

Hello, and welcome! Today, we’re delving into the features and operation of the PBR 1050-90, a model in the PBR series of sheet rolls, designed for precision and reliability. Whether you’re new to this model or need a refresher, this guide will walk you through each aspect, from initial setup to maintenance tips.

Overview of the PBR 1050-90

The PBR 1050-90 comes equipped with:

  • A maximum bending length of 1050 mm.
  • A 90 mm top roll, enabling a minimum inside bending diameter of 135 mm.
  • Manual side rolls and a foot pedal (without a digital readout) for straightforward control.

With capacities of 3.3 mm for mild steel and 1.5 mm for stainless steel, this machine is versatile for a range of sheet bending applications.

Step 1: Unpacking and Setup

After unpacking the machine and removing its cover, the next step is connecting the foot pedal. This foot pedal is your primary control for machine operation, so ensure it is securely plugged in.

Step 2: Powering Up the Machine

Once your foot pedal is in place, connect the machine to a power source. When plugged in and powered on, a white light will illuminate, indicating that the machine is receiving power. Next, press the green button to activate the machine.

If the machine is ready to go, the green light will illuminate. To stop all power, simply press the red button, which shuts down the machine.

Troubleshooting Tip:
If you press the green button and it does not activate, check the emergency stop switch. Ensure it’s disengaged, as this will prevent the machine from turning on.

Step 3: Resetting the Trip Wire

If the emergency stop has been reset and the green light still doesn’t come on, the trip wire may have been activated. To reset it:

  1. Adjust the blue button on the trip wire by pulling it up.
  2. Return to the control board and check if the green light illuminates.

If the green button still doesn’t work, you may need to adjust the trip wire further. Turn it in quarter-turn increments until you see the O-ring, then reset the trip wire and the emergency stop switch.

Maintenance Tips

Regular maintenance keeps your PBR 1050-90 operating smoothly. Here are a few key points:

  • Oiling Points: There are five oiling points that require regular attention.
  • Grease Nipples: The machine has two grease nipples; keep these lubricated to ensure smooth operation.
  • Top Roll Release: Regularly grease the top roll release for consistent performance.
  • Roller Care: Use WD-40 to wipe down the rolls periodically to prevent rust and maintain a clean working surface.
